Corey Feldman has denied claims that he was molested by Corey Haim during the filming of The Lost Boys after documentary comments.
The Lost Boys is a 1987 vampire horror comedy that became a cult classic starring Corey Feldman, Jami Gertz, Corey Haim, and Edward Herrmann.
In the release of the new documentary, Corey Feldman vs. the World, the actor reflected on his time on the film, claiming that he was molested during the filming.
Now, in a new legal statement to US Weekly, his representatives said he was not involved in the documentary and the producers ‘obtained the footage through dishonest means’ and an investigation has been launched into the source.
The statement called reports suggesting Feldman was molested by Haim as ‘sensationalised mischaracterisation’ of what he said, clarifying that Feldman ‘did not reciprocate [Haim’s] advances’ when asked to ‘mess around’.
They continued: ‘Mr. Feldman’s statement that Mr. Haim “molested” him was in reference to Mr. Haim’s advances, and not physical molestation,’ reitirating that he was not physically molested by him.
It comes after US Weekly reported that Feldman said in the show: ‘When we did Lost Boys, Corey said to me: “Hey man, let’s mess around. I said, “What do you mean?”
According to Feldman, Haim said that was ‘what guys in the business do.’ He added: ‘You know, you suck each other’s d, or you f around, you do this stuff,’ Feldman claimed of Haim’s alleged reasoning.
Feldman and Haim were both around 14 years old when filming began for The Lost Boys. Feldman continued: ‘I said, “What are you talking about?” And he said, “Well, Charlie [Sheen] told me it was OK.”‘
Feldman previously accused Sheen of sexual assault when they made 1986’s Lucas. At the time, Haim was 13 years old, and Sheen was 19.
His claims were explored in Feldman’s documentary, (My) Truth: The Rape Of Two Coreys in 2020. Sheen vehemently denied the allegations at the time.
A rep for the actor told Metro at the time: ‘These sick, twisted and outlandish allegations never occurred. Period. I would urge everyone to consider the source and read what his mother Judy Haim has to say.’
Haim’s mother added: ‘I feel that this is a huge accusation without any proof and without my kid being here to defend himself, I stand firm, that Charlie DID NOT.’
Haim died in 2010 at the age of 38 from pneumonia and never publicly addressed the accusations.
Feldman was a breakout star in his youth in the 80s after he appeared in Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter, Gremlins, The Goonies, and Stand by Me.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly in 2020, he commented that he was proud of himself for speaking up, and starting a movement for children abused in Hollywood circles to speak out.
‘I think we’ve really started a movement here. That’s what makes me proud. That’s what makes me feel like I’ve actually accomplished something in my life,’ he said.
