Lola Young has confirmed she will ‘gradually’ return to the stage after she cancelled her entire tour and announced she would be taking a step back from her career.

The 24-year-old collapsed onstage at a September gig for the All Things Go Music Festival in New York City, after which disturbing footage circulated online of the moment.

Young, best known for her hit song Messy, was seen staggering on stage and wearily singing, before she gestured offstage to indicate a problem and suddenly fell backwards.

Earlier in the year, she had been forced to run off stage gagging and feeling like she was going to vomit while performing at Coachella.

The star announced she would be ‘going away for a while’ and cancelled all her tour dates just months ago.

Yet on Saturday, Young returned to her Instagram for the first time in months, sharing a post with fans saying that she will be returning to the stage.

‘I just wanted to express gratitude to everyone who has given me time and space to gather myself and get my head in a better place,’ she wrote in the caption.

‘I’ve felt so much love and support from you all and it has helped more than you will ever know.

‘I am hoping to gradually get back to performing and continuing pursuing my dreams.

‘Happy holidays to you all and can’t wait to see you in 2026. Life is a journey, nothing is perfect but today I am doing well. All my love always.’

Among those who showed support for the singer in the comments section were DJ Annie Mac, presenter Clara Amfo, and singer Pixie Lott.

The singer’s chaotic, confessional single Messy became the most-streamed song by a British artist in the world earlier this year. She recently followed it up with a new album, I’m Only F**ing Myself*.

After the collapse on Sunday, Lola initially only pulled out of one performance – her scheduled slot at All Things Go DC.

Lott wrote: ‘Yay Lola sending u lots of love,’ with a string of loveheart emojis, while Clara Amfo commented: ‘You are rooted for.’

The singer was due to play venues around England and Scotland in October, followed by tour dates in the US, Mexico and Canada in November and December with performances scheduled for South America and Europe in 2026.
