Brooklyn Beckham’s relationship with his parents is showing no signs of improvement despite hopes of mending the feud.
The eldest child of David and Victoria has now sent a legal letter instructing them to only contact him through lawyers going forward in a new blow towards his parents.
The reason for his decision has now reportedly been revealed as the aspiring chef, 26, and his wife Nicola Peltz, 31, make an apparent bid to break free from his family.
According to reports, Brooklyn’s requests to ‘stop’ his parents from contacting him had gone unanswered.
‘It had been leading to issues with his mental health….it was to protect himself,’ a source told the Mirror.
They added that Brooklyn would prefer any attempts at a reconciliation to be handled ‘privately’ and away from social media.
At the end of 2025, Brooklyn suddenly blocked his family on Instagram just days after the Spice Girls star attempted to reach out to her son by liking one of his social media posts.
‘There was no intention behind it other than to show she’s thinking of him before Christmas. She had no idea it would lead to this fallout.
‘She can’t understand why Brooklyn would make the decision to block her, David, and his brothers. Cruz and Romeo are just as hurt by it and it feels like Brooklyn has truly cut them out of his life,’ a source told Metro at the time.
Over the New Year, Sir David appeared to extend an olive branch to his son by sharing an Instagram story with a picture of him and Brooklyn with the caption ‘I love you all so much’. Victoria then reshared the post with a heart caption.
After rejecting this gesture, it was reported by The Sun that the eldest son has now issued his parents a legal notice warning, stating that they cannot directly contact him. He has also pushed back against claims he is under the ‘control’ of his wife.
However, he does remain in contact with his grandparents – David and Sandra (Sir David’s parents) and Anthony and Jackie (Victoria’s parents).
‘Brooklyn absolutely adores them, and knows how much pain this is causing everyone. So he has reached out in his own time, but tried to keep it low-key so as not to drag them into it.
‘Brooklyn is navigating this soul-crushing family feud as best he can but it isn’t easy on anyone. Nicola remains his absolute rock,’ an insider told The Sun.
Elsewhere, a source told the Mail: ‘David was told to speak to them via Schillings. That was the only way for them to communicate.’
The feud is believed to have stemmed as far back as four years, during the time of Brooklyn and Nicola’s 2022 wedding, when there were reports that the bride-to-be had refused to wear one of fashion icon Victoria’s designs for the big day.
As for Sir David, he has experienced several huge milestones without his son by his side, including his big 50th, being knighted and now, he’s been announced as part of the Hollywood Walk of Fame class of 2025.
In April, Cruz was also forced to rubbish rumours that his brothers were feuding over Romeo’s girlfriend Kim, who some fans had claimed is also Brooklyn’s ex.
His star unveiling will take place in the coming months, but questions remain over Brooklyn’s attendance, given it is just miles from where his LA-based son lives.
Metro has contacted representatives for Brooklyn for comment.
