Lorraine Kelly has been told to ‘grow up’ by viewers after laughing at a man with the ‘world’s smallest penis’.
The 66-year-old Scottish presenter briefly spoke to This Morning’s Cat Deeley and Ben Shepard at the end of her programme today.
After they exchanged greetings, the duo told Lorraine that they had Michael Phillips as a guest on the show, who was diagnosed with a micropenis condition.
Cat, 49, told viewers: ‘We’re meeting the man with the world’s smallest penis,’ before Ben, 51, remarked: ‘Yes… a little bit of everything for you today, Lorraine.’
However, shortly after they finished talking, Lorraine shook her head saying: ‘Honestly, honestly.’
She then burst into a fit of laughter, adding: ‘Only on This Morning!’
As Cat and Ben tried to alleviate the situation, Lorraine could only cover her face as she tried to control her laughing.
Taking to social media, viewers hit out at the veteran daytime presenter, with @kellymcc5 writing on X: ‘Why is she laughing?’
@iluvbatfink also wrote: ‘Dear me #Lorraine, grow up.’
Meanwhile, @Pods80 argued that as a whole it was ‘disgusting’ to try and ‘joke at the guys expense’.
Michael, 38, was medically diagnosed with a 0.38 inch micro penis last year and believes he has the smallest one in the world, with the average UK penis size being 5.2 inches.
Unable to be intimate, Michael has even recently opted for fat injections to increase his size, which proved unsuccessful. He also isn’t able to stand up when he goes to the toilet
However, appearing on This Morning, the 38-year-old said he wants to help other men feel better about their own bodies.
Elsewhere on Lorraine’s show, the presenter has been adapting to some ‘seismic’ changes.
Coming amid a series of budget-saving cuts to the ITV institution, Lorraine now airs on a ‘seasonal basis,’ with Good Morning Britain taking over its traditional slot for 22 weeks of the year.
While Lorraine still hosts her show for the remaining 30 weeks, stand-ins Ranvir Singh and Christine Lampard are no longer needed.
ITV has also cut the show’s running time in half, meaning that it only airs for half an hour per day, between 9:30am and 10am.
During an appearance on BBC 4’s Desert Island Discs this week, Lorraine revealed how ‘disappointed’ she was.
This is the world that we live in now. Things have to change,’ she told host Lauren Laverne
‘I mean, I’ve been through so many regime changes in my life. For me, this is just another one, but it’s seismic. The thing that has upset me the most is the fact that we’ve got this great team, and obviously, that’s not going to be in place next year because jobs will go.
‘Hopefully I’ll be able to hang on to some of these amazing people – that’s my aim. It’s very, very sad. It really is.’
Lorraine airs on weekdays on ITV1 at 9am.
