A popular ITV presenter has reportedly become the new ‘favourite’ in the search to replace Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman on Strictly Come Dancing.
It was announced last year that the most recent series of Strictly would be their last, and the pair bid an emotional farewell as the grand final aired.
Since then, the hunt has been on for Tess and Claudia’s replacements.
A series of high-profile names such as Alan Carr, Angela Scanlon, Zoe Ball and Bradley Walsh have all been in contention for the roles, although no decision seems to have been made as yet.
It has now been reported that former Lorraine host and Loose Women panelist Christine Lampard has become a frontrunner for the job.

This comes soon after Christine, 46, announced that she’d left her role on ITV’s Lorraine after eight years of hosting the show on Fridays.
A source told The Sun: ‘She has a huge fanbase from her years fronting breakfast TV and is a pro at handling live TV, which is no mean feat.
‘Producers love the idea of casting a presenter who has previously taken part in the show as a contestant, as it has worked really well in the past on spin-off show It Takes Two.’
The source added: ‘As well as being glamorous and great to work with, Christine is incredibly likeable and has excellent interview skills.
‘Now she has more free time she has become a firm frontrunner and a name on everyone’s lips.’
Christine previously appeared as a contestant on the sixth series of Strictly on 2008, where she was partnered with professional dancer Matthew Cutler.
She and Matthew ultimately left the competition in fifth place, losing out in a dance-off to S Club 7 star Rachel Stevens and professional Vincent Simone.
That series was won by actor Tom Chambers and his own dance partner, Camilla Dallerup.
Christine, who shares two children with former England footballer Frank Lampard, co-hosted The One Show with Adrian Chiles in 2007.
She made the move to ITV in 2010, joining breakfast TV show Daybreak as host, along with Adrian.
She also served as maternity cover for Holly Willoughby on Dancing On Ice from 2012 to 2014.
In December, Christine announced that she would be stepping down from her role on Lorraine amid a series of sweeping changes to the show’s format and schedule.
‘After many years of being part of the @lorraine family it is now coming to an end,’ Christine wrote in a post to her social media.
‘We’ve laughed, lunched and learnt so much from one another. Colleagues who have become the best of friends.’
She added: ‘As many of the team enter a new world in 2026, I want to thank every single person. I love you all! It has been the best of times ❤️❤️❤️’
