After a week of speculation to fuel the corners of Reddit and kitchen table discussions alike, the true identity of the secret Traitor has been revealed.
The fourth season of The Traitors has returned to the BBC with a bang, raking in millions of viewers and introducing a brand new element to mix up the show and avoid any repetition of recent seasons.
In the first episode, host Claudia Winkleman revealed there would be one scarlet-cloaked Traitor swishing about the corridors of the castle unbeknownst to the main flank of murderers, as well as the viewers at home.
Hugo was spectacularly banished from the roundtable on Saturday night and revealed he was one of the conclave of serial killers in their midst.
It was only then that the remaining Traitors – Stephen and Rachel – were dangled the opportunity to learn the identity of their secret comrade, if they performed a dangerous task in plain sight.
After a spot of prevaricating, they completed it, putting a fingerprint on nine contestants they wished to shortlist for murder on a family tree picture of all of the participants.
The third episode ended on that cliffhanger, with the scarlet-cloaked Traitor knocking at the turret door to reveal their identity.

So, without further ado, the Secret Traitor is: Fiona!
Removing her cloak with a characteristic giggle, the 62-year-old local government officer from Swansea was positively giddy at finally being able to come out of the shadows.
Was it blindingly obvious all along? She wore a red raincoat for a whole mission, despite being indoors. Then she talked about owning a Cindy Crawford-style red bikini.
Leading up to the reveal, her name had certainly been in the shortlist of suspects, not least because she dropped two major hints in the third episode.
She admitted to ‘playing up to being dotty and clueless’ before warning: ‘Never underestimate a woman of a certain age.’ They were as good as telling us who it was!
However, not everybody at home was best pleased about the reveal coming so soon in the show’s run. Ben wrote on X: ‘I’m quite disappointed. I wish it had been more of a shock.’
‘Been magnificent but this is probably too soon,’ Michael echoed, while Luce added: ‘They could’ve atleast kept it hidden for a bit longer.’
Before that there had been a number of different names in contention, including crime writer and secret barrister Harriet, who proved to be Hugo’s undoing and Ellie, a psychologist who has flown under the radar and kept tight-lipped about her probable link to Ross.
The Traitors continues on Thursday at 8pm.
