Fans of The Traitors think they’ve clocked something of note regarding one of the Faithfuls who was recently murdered.
The BBC show turns us all into detectives, and this year there’s an even bigger incentive to become one.
Viewers have been tasked with trying to work out who the secret Traitor is as they watch at home, not knowing who is gliding along under the disguise of a red cloak.
After an early mother-daughter connection was revealed, some think there are more relationships to uncover.
And while internet sleuths have found what they believe to be evidence of a secret relationship between Ross and Ellie, there’s a murdered Faithful they’re also onto.
It’s come to the attention of some users on Reddit, that retiree Ben’s surname is nowhere to be found online.
This, they think, strongly suggests that Ben might be related to another contestant.

Silver-Currency3368, who posited the theory, said: ‘I’m pretty convinced we’ve found the big twist.’
While Metro understands that the show doesn’t give out the surnames of Traitors players, the online community are speculating that it’s no coincidence we can’t locate Ben’s.
The Reddit post references fan sites, like The Traitors Wiki on Fandom, which names contestants in full, bar Ben.
It also suggests that local press interviews with Ben exclude his last name.
Although it appears he hasn’t done many, Ben did do an interview with BBC Radio Solent, where his last name wasn’t used. However, this might not be surprising considering the broadcaster’s show doesn’t refer to any of the cast by their surnames.
But this hasn’t convinced the internet theorists, who think it’s being held back because he might have ‘the same surname as another contestant, or providing his surname [makes] it too easy to research [him] and find information that might reveal a connection.’
‘Good catch’, commented IrishUpYourCoffee.
The murdered Faithful appears to have created an Instagram account under the handle bentheman2026.
Of course, there are other reasons Ben might not want to be sharing more than his forename.
Being on any kind of reality TV can subject you to intense scrutiny from viewers and the press, so perhaps Ben has made a conscious decision to limit what people can find out about him.
Or, as gummibear853 asked on Reddit: ‘Isn’t Ben ex-forces? Could it be related to that?’
In episode one, Ben told Claudia Winkleman that he never got to take his wife on a honeymoon because he was in the forces, so he would use the prize money to do that.
Unfortunately he didn’t get close to winning, as he became the second Faithful murdered by the Traitors.
The Traitors continues tomorrow night at 8pm on BBC One.
