Hollow Knight: Silksong has come out on top at Valve’s 2025 Steam Awards, which is voted entirely by players.
2025 might be officially in the rear view mirror, but the awards season for last year’s crop is still set to continue over the next few months.
The 2026 BAFTA Games Awards are set to take place in April, while the D.I.C.E. Awards are slated for February 12. Of course, you can just pay attention to GameCentral’s list of the top 20 games of 2025, where (spoilers) Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 reigned supreme.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 largely sweeped The Game Awards too, but it hasn’t been quite as successful at Valve’s 2025 Steam Awards.
The annual awards, voted by Steam players, received a whopping 43.8 million votes across all eleven categories. The biggest Game Of The Year prize went to Hollow Knight: Silksong, over Arc Raiders, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Dispatch, and Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
Team Cherry’s Metroidvania also picked up the Best Game You Suck At award, over Where Winds Meet, Elden Ring Nightreign, and Marvel Rivals.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 won one award for Best Soundtrack, while Silent Hill f, Arc Raiders, Peak, and Hades 2 were among the other winners.
Baldur’s Gate 3, meanwhile, picked up the Labor Of Love award, their equivalent of best ongoing game. ‘The team is well past the debut of their creative baby, but being the good parents they are, these devs continue to nurture and support their creation,’ the description reads. ‘This game, to this day, is still getting new content after all these years.’
As these awards are tied to Valve’s platform specifically, the likes of Donkey Kong Bananza, Mario Kart World, and Ghost of Yōtei were not eligible. You can check out the full list of winners below.
Black Myth: Wukong picked up the biggest prize at 2024’s Steam Awards, along with Best Game You Suck At and Outstanding Story-Rich Game.
Team Cherry has confirmed DLC for Hollow Knight: Silksong, titled Sea Of Sorrow, is set to release in 2026. The expansion will be entirely free, and will see players ‘voyage across and beneath the salt-stricken seas’.
