The Masked Singer is back with a new line-up of incognito celebs singing their way to the coveted trophy.
The ITV reality series is hosted by Joel Dommett and judged by an all-star panel comprised of Jonathan Ross, Davina McCall, Mo Gilligan and Maya Jama.
The new season promises a ‘first’ in Masked Singer history and ‘more unmaskings than ever’ with 12 famous faces dressed up in bonkers outfits for the judges and the audience to guess.
The contestants this year include: Moth, Can of Worms, Red Panda, Conkers, Arctic Fox, Toastie, Monkey Business, Sloth, Garogyle, Disc Jockey and Teabag.
Of course, despite their elaborate disguises, there are different tells to piece together who might be lurking underneath the costumes.
So from accents, to turns of phrases, to singing ability and beyond – what are the hints so far as to the Sloth’s real face?
What clues are there for Sloth’s identity?
Sloth made their debut performance on the show with the song Break My Stride from Matthew Wilder, with a very energetic routine to match, indicating it was a young, sprightly person.
We were offered plenty of clues about who Sloth could be, not least through the outfit, which resembled workout gear, including fluorescent sweatbands, a mesh top and a pink leotard, screaming sporty personality.
In the introduction, we see Sloth recording a workout video on a camcorder, indicating it could be an influencer of some sort, or at least someone who documents their exercise to the masses.
As the Sloth declared to the camera: ‘Now I’m bringing fitness, fashion and fierceness to the competition. I know how to represent in the gym and on the world stage.’
We also see the Sloth in the jungle, which has the judges convinced that this is a celebrity who has featured on I’m A Celebrity.
Meanwhile, Davina even posed that it could be a radio DJ due to the cadence of Sloth’s voice and the fact that there were also several references to music, as he held aloft a stereo.
At another point, we also saw glimpses of handcuffs as well as someone playing snooker.
On the stage after their performance, Sloth kept the energy by encouraging Joel to do some press-ups on stage.
Who could Sloth on The Masked Singer be?
There are currently six names floating around as the possible famous face posing as nature’s sleepiest animal.
For those convinced by the fitness influencer aspect of Sloth’s intro video and performance, Body Coach Joe Wicks is a strong frontrunner.
Remaining in the sporty vein, some fans online believe it could be Mo Farah who has also, coincidentally, starred in I’m A Celebrity and is said to be returning for the All Stars version.
After spotting references to pool, judges also speculated it could be snooker legend Ronnie O’Sullivan.
Meanwhile, with all the music references, Take That star Jay McGuiness has also been posed, with Sloth joking ‘I’ve always wanted to be in a boy band, but am I Jay McGuiness?’ about the Strictly star.
Rounding off the speculation is TV personality and radio presenter Sam Thompson, with some pointing out that he had a very obvious stage presence and DJ Chris Moyles, both of whom fit into the presenter category.
The Masked Singer 2026 continues on ITV1 and ITVX.
