A recent GTA Online update added a new mission involving the character of Michael from GTA 5 (Rockstar)

Ned Luke has been swatted enough times to be on friendly terms with the police as demonstrated in a recent Twitch stream.

Despite how dangerous it is, swatting worryingly remains an all-too common means of pranking Twitch streamers, particularly in the US. As a reminder, swatting involves sending law enforcement to peoples’ homes under false pretences.

One streamer, xQc, was forced to move house after repeated swatting incidents and some instances have even put peoples’ lives at risk. There’s more than one story of a swatting victim being shot and injured by police.

Another frequent victim of swatting is none other than GTA 5 voice actor Ned Luke though such incidents should hopefully stop now that someone is facing legal ramifications for it.

Last week, just a couple of days before Christmas, Luke (who voiced Michael, one of GTA 5’s three main protagonists) was playing GTA Online on Twitch alongside Rob Wiethoff (the voice of John Marston in the Red Dead Redemption games).

As seen in a clip captured and shared to YouTube, a pair of police officers entered Luke’s house partway through the stream. However, they’re so used to this happening that they casually say to Luke, ‘You’re getting swatted again.’

Luke even seemed to know at least one of them personally, acting friendly and asking the police to say hi to his Twitch chat. After assuring everything’s fine, the police simply left and Luke continued with the stream though not without telling Wiethoff, ‘There are so many d*****bags out there.’

Even though all that happened was the stream being disrupted for a minute, it must be no less of a frustrating experience for Luke, especially if these incidents have been frequent enough for the police to be familiar with him.

Back in November 2023, following another swatting incident, Luke said on X that this was the sixth such instance. He was then swatted again just a month later, making this last swatting the eighth time it’s happened.

This time, though, there’s going to be real consequences. Recently, Luke took to Instagram to share a letter he received from the Department of Justice that says at least one person faces federal charges over their swatting prank (it’s unclear if it’s for the most recent incident), with a court hearing scheduled for next month.

‘F*** around and find out,’ says Luke, no doubt as a warning to anyone else thinking of swatting him, adding, ‘Many more names discovered and provided.’

In related news, Luke’s GTA 5 character was recently added to GTA Online as part of a new update, which includes a new mission involving him and the ability to buy your own mansion.
